머리말

 

임용 영어교육론은 우리 선생님들이 새내기 교사가 되어 교직에 첫발을 내딛게 될 때 가장 필요한 과목이 될 것이다. 초임 교사가 되어 교실현장에서 사용하게 될 영어교수법이나 학생의 수준 등이 그동안 책에서 배운 내용과 다르고 교직에 대한 평소의 기대와는 다르게 나타나는 면이 있을 수는 있다. 하지만 영어교육에 대한 기본 철학이 있고 어떠한 문제점이 나타날 것이라는 것을 예상하고 대비할 수 있다면 아무런 준비가 되지 않은 상태에서 어려움을 만나는 경우와는 다르게 잘 헤쳐나갈 수 있을 것이다.

 

2024년과 2025년 임용 영어시험에서 영어교육론은 80점 만점에 각각 38점과 36점이 출제되면서 임용 합격을 위해서는 높은 점수를 받아야 하는 필수 요소가 되고 있다. 영어교육론에서 다루어지는 내용들은 효과적인 2언어 습득을 위한 기본 원리로 시작하여, 실러버스와 교과서의 이용, 평가의 종류와 목적, 그리고 4기능과 문법·어휘지도까지 영어 교육을 위한 전반적인 내용을 다음과 같이 구성하고 있다.

2014년부터 중등교사를 위한 전공영어 시험이 1차 서답형 (기입형과 서술형)으로 개정되면서

그를 위한 방식의 학습방법이 필요하게 되었다. 이에 따라 정확한 답을 서술해야 하는 서답형에 따른 학습방법이 요구되고 있다. 우리나라 교육과정 평가편에 따르면 서답형 문항의 목적은 크게 다음과 같이 분류될 수 있다.

서답형 문항을 풀기 위해서는 다음과 같은 필수사항이 고려되어야 할 것이다.

 직접 서술해야 하는 문제를 위한 정확한 지식 필요

 종합적 사고력을 기반으로 한 문제 해결 방법 강화

 

이러한 문제점을 해결하고 합격하기 위해서 다음과 같은 학습단계를 실천해볼 수 있다.

 

1. ELT 아티클과 원서교재 읽기를 통해 내용을 전체로서 이해한다.

2. 글쓰기 문제연습과 첨삭을 통해 본인의 장점과 단점을 이해하고 수정해간다.

3. 기출문제를 풀어보며 실제문제 안에서 답을 찾아간다.

4. Mindmap을 통해 내용의 구조화를 수행한다.

5. Keywords의 반복연습으로 답안이 되는 요소를 정리한다.

 

기초를 잘 닦고 시작하는 공부는 어떠한 문제가 출제되거나 다른 새로운 영역으로 적용해야 할 때 강한 생존력을 나타낼 수 있다. 새롭게 시작하는 선생님과 다시 한번 도전하는 선생님 모두, 이제 영어교육론의 이론을 처음 대하는 마음으로 차근차근 시작해 보기로 하자.
